Author's first collection of poetry. Selected by Alan Clodd from work published in little-circulated magazines during the 1950s, it includes 10 poems previously unpublished in any form together with an early fragment of dialogue, "Kullus", dating from 1949. The periodicals referred to include Poetry Quarterly, Poetry London, New Poems 1957, The Twentieth Century, The Window, The Glass, The Observer, and The Literary Supplement. A second edition, limited to 100 copies, was issued in a similar format in 1971 with nine additional poems.
