Volume gathers together the manuscripts of Yeats's poems from the collections of Senator Michael B. Yeats and the National Library of Ireland. The aim being the creation of "essential reference works for scholars who wish to establish authoritative texts" of Yeats's published works. From the editor's introduction: "Last Poems embodies W. B.
