One of seven volumes in the Poems series, which, along with Plays, Prose and Family Papers, constitute the four series of The Cornell Yeats. Volume gathers together the manuscripts of Yeats's poems from the collections of Senator Michael B. Yeats and the National Library of Ireland. The aim being the creation of "essential reference works for scholars who wish to establish authoritative texts" of Yeats's published works. From the editor's introduction: "Last Poems embodies W. B. Yeats's remarkable engagement with his impending death [and] his wish to achieve an accomplished closure of his poetic canon."
